January 6th / 7th / 8th / 9th 2026, 10:00 to 13:30 hs. 4-day training course (in-person) teaching you the basics in tessellation of surfaces, and how to work with lists in Grasshopper. We will look closely at: Point grids (set up by coordinates, or extract them from surface). Applying rules to tessellate a surface (planar or cylindrical). We will look at case studies: Gridshell Roof of the British Museum (completed 1999, London, Foster &amp; Partners). 30 St. Mary Axe - a.k.a. What will you learn?Setting up point grids by coordinates ("construct point") using lists ("graft" and "flatten").Implementing mathematical tools ("series" and fundamental trigonometry concepts) to create points in a harmonic distribution.Reconstructing a surface with a harmonic grid of points (Extracting points from custom "messy" curves or "messy" surfaces).Setting up orthogonal correspondence of lines within a harmonic grid of points (Quads).Setting up diagonal correspondence of lines within a harmonic grid of points (Triangular tiles).
